RISSPA and Group-IB are starting-up a new work group

Group-IB Company (Information Security Group) jointly with RISSPA association (Russian Information Systems Security Professional Association) is glad to inform you on start-up of the special purpose work groupon cyber crimes prevention.

The group will be publishing the most up-to-date data on: cyber crimes schemes; notification from Information Distribution & Switching systems on network attacks and epidemics, on current DDoS-attacks and on operating botnets; data from restricted/elite элитных hacker-forums on the new fraud schemes, as well as data from HoneyNet on new types of harmful software and ways of distribution. Any registered member of RISSPA is allowed to enroll in the group.

One of the main current issues of the cyber crimes in Russia is the lack of data on trends of such crimes, approaches to identification, investigation and legal description. Therefore, the main task of the project is to tune the interaction between various information security dealing professionals. According to project founders the start-up of the work group will provide an effective support to the actions against cyber crimes, as well as will coordinate actions of professionals in the area in the allied cases.

Group-IB Company possesses expertise in cyber crimes investigation. Therefore the advisory support provided within the work group will uncover new options for professionals in information security joined by RISSPA. “Association welcomes such initiatives and is ready to assist in promotion of the projects aimed at experience exchange and industry development” – stated Eugeniy Klimov – the Vice-president of RISSPA.

According to Ilya Sachkov - the General Director of Group-IB: “Information security main purpose is to decrease number of cyber crimes. Security is evolving in line with cyber-crimes causing no affect on cases number and having the same target – to gain revenues. Our main target is to influence cyber crimes prevention, exchange useful information and to develop the sense of responsibility.
